Causes of WW1: Political Cartoons

Slide One

1) For Austria-Hungry the man is putting his boot in Italy's face showing that they did not want to be taken over. One more thing is Great Britain and Germany fighting over Belgum and Switzerland. Showing that they were fighting.

Slide Two

1) It is showing how inter connected the alliences were between all they countries, that they were like a bunch of sticks in a pile and the nationalist movements and the Arms race were just blowing smoke onto the fire.

2) That there were a lot of reasons why they war started and it only took two little things to just set all the alliences into fighting mode.

Slide Three

1) It is portraying nationalism.

2) That nationalism starts from one person and all should follow because they all should be the same.

3) Depending on the countries views it can mbe positve or negative. One example of negative is in fact Germany and their views and the Jewish religion and anyone who didn't fit their picture of what people should be, do, and act.

Slide Four

1) That they were all following eachother if they were in an allience.

2) The first and second I can't figure out but the thrid I think is Russia, the forth is Germany I believe and the last is Britan I think.

3) That all the countries were following eachother due to alliences.

Slide Five

1) That all the different countries were just getting more heated and that they were all close around eachother.

2) The message is that the countries were all getting mad at eachother and so heated however they couldn't get aways from the tension because they were all so close in vacinity to one another.

Slide Six

1) That all the countries were pointing fingers at one another and not taking blame.

2)  That after awhile none of the countries quite knew who started it but that they were just helping their allied country.

Slide Seven

1) I believe that Germany wnats to take over Europe.

2) I think is is a German soldier.

3) Just that GErmany wanted all the power and took advatage of the fighting situation and was trying to just take over all of Europe.
