Socialism in our society is it enough?

I believe that the socialism in our society is just enough. When we look at things such as medicare, welfare, and food stamps, we see that our goverment is trying to give us freedom to do as we please yet assisst when needed. By our goverment providing things such as medicare we are able to get the care we need form doctors without being neglected because of low incomes. This shows because more than 30 million with medicare used it for preventitive services in 2011. This statistic is shocking to me. I didn't know much about medicare until I went on Medicare.gov. Medicare also covers early tests to find heart disease which is the number one killer in America. The next thing that by having socialism in our goverment is welfare. About 30 million U.S. citizens are on welfare right now. This is helping people who are less futunate the chance to live at least a decent life. No it doesn't mean full equality, but this also could jump start even just one of those 30 million people to turn their lives around. One more thing that is showing the right amount of socialism in our society is food stamps. Without food stamps peope with less than $2,000 in resources in their homes would not be able to pay for food for their children, their elderly parents, or even more so themselves. By our economic system having just the right amount of socialism in our society we are not bein over powered but also not under powered by our goverment. By our goverment being this way we are only being helped.

Economic Systems in a nutshell

Capitalism is a type of economic system that lets everything be and stays out of the economy.

Socialism is a type of economic system that only dabbles in some aspects of equality and production.

Communism is a type of economic system that makes everything equal.

Terrorism Artical

This artical denied as well as confirmed some of my opions on terriorism. One theory that was denied was that I believed that terrorists were more so people of low income. I thought that these horrible people we're people that were poor and wanted to make some sort of radical impact. However my theory was prven wrong when the artical stated that 47% of terrorists had actually graduated from highschool. These people also came from privalaged families as well. It said 16% came from families of wealth. This does make sense seeing that most dictators such as Fidel Castro and Ho Chi Minh held wealth. It also is all connected in that the terrorists in 9/11 held enginering degrees and knew exactly what they were doing because they had had many years of schooling. Though after reading this artical some things we're shocking but other facts were not. One fact is the all mighty of terrorism which is that terroism instills fear into people...even a whole country sometimes. It says inthe artical that terrorism "is a mesans by which to scare the pants off the living and fracture their normal lives." This statement was proven when In the random shootings in Washington, DC, everything was shut down because they were so terrified of these two people. Even though the fact is that an average American to die in a year from a terrorist attack the probability is one in five million. This is over rided in peoples minds when something like nine eleven happens. All people can think of is the fear, and the what if it happens to me? What if I was one of those three thousand people to die in those planes or even in the towers. People have even stopped taking planes and driving to their destinationin fear of planes being crashed. This showing that that fear factor is still in the back of peoples minds. So in short by reading this artical one of my theories was proven wrong however the other theory of instilling fear still holds strong in people.

Causes of French Revolution

Some of the causes of the French Revolution were the American Revolution, poor leadership, finacial problems within the country, and the most important social inequality. I belive that of all the causes social inequality was the major reason. The country of France consisted of three estates or social casts. The first consisted of clergy. The clergy were exempt from having to pay taxes and owned ten percent of the land. The second estste was comprised of the nobles. they owned 25-30 percent of all the land. They also recieved tax exemptions because they were a crucial role in society. The final and third estate were the commoners. Within the commoners there were three tiers the bourgeoisie, the workers, and the peasants. Unlike the workers and peasant the bourgeoisie's had money and steady jobs. These people were also major fans of the enlightenment era with Locke and Rousseau. At the very bottom of the tiers workers and peasants were poor and in constant starvation. In addition the thrid estate people had to pay taxes. they never even got it back because half of it went to paying of the debt of the country. The enlightenmetn era helped to insire the french third estate people to revolt against the royals. they became furious with being treated not equally and having Marie Antonette spend any money that ever did actually come in on lavish parties and such. Therefore because of the inequalities in society the people became enraged and that i believe was the biggest cause of the French Revolution.

In our country we are supposed to be under the assupmtion that all men are created equal. This theory was laid down by our forfathers and we must respect that. However looking in our past starting with slavery and to present day men have not been equal. Actually most of the time equal is not the case. Even now we see people in the news not getting a job because of the color of their skin or even now because of their gender. Our declaration states that we should not have to face these obsticles yet they are presistent. So in short I believe that we are not all created very equal and in society there are still differences based on gender and skin color.

Pro- choice

~ I am catholic and I do realize that by choosing pro-choice is against my religion. However it is the females body and she should be able to chose what she believes to be the right choice for her. Abortion is a topic that should only be between the woman and her docter it should not een be a topic in congress or in the community were men who don't have to ever make this decisin can vote of all things on it. Leave it at the women's choice. Also if a woman becomes pregnate through rape, if abortion was illegal, she would have to go through nine months of thinking about this one terrible and horrifying event. She could give it up for adoption but that can also make a women mentally unstable. Therefore by making it the women's choice she could chose to have the baby, put the baby up for adoption, or abort the baby, but no matter what it is her choice and she is the only one that will have to live with it.
